Looking for a small pack that holds 1L/35oz of fluids, the ability to carry a plus sized phone, backup front pocket for a soft flask or other gear, and shoulder pockets for food and essentials? This is the pack! Its tiny size is wide ranging in fit, and high performing for tackling everything from a lunch time run, marathon, triathlon, endurance ride, and more.

What's different with version 3.0 over 2.0? 3.0 has:

  • Solid, non stretchy, nylon straps on the front chest adjustments for a cinch tight and no slip fit.
  • We've added a structurally tough elastic in the back of the side webbing for just a bit of stretch to conform with chest breathing while still maintaining stability.
  • Trekking pole anchor points are in the front of the pack, as well as the back.
  • Added hang loop for hanging the pack up.
  • Change to elastic strap retainers on the side from rigid plastic.

The key to fit, cinch the sides first, not the front, until you feel the pack anchor on your shoulders. Then adjust the front harness as needed so you can breathe during movement.

During any sport the Gear Vest is extremely stable to torsional, up and down, and fast movements. It tracks with your body and is very comfortable to wear. Storage up front is designed around 500ml or 600ml soft flasks.

  • Weight without bladder: 8.9oz
  • Bladder size: 1L (35oz) included
  • Sport focus: Trail and ultra-running, Marathon, Mountain Biking, Triathlon, Hiking, SUP, Hiking, Skiing
  • Made: Vietnam
  • Fits soft flask in 500ml (500ml-LINK) and 600ml (600ml-LINK) in the front chest pockets.
  • Optional Trekking Pole Hardware-Link

Great vest

I am an ultra distance runner and this is a great gear vest for distances that you don't need to carry a large amount of water or nutrition. The 1 liter bladder is the perfect size for those shorter duration runs. Comfortable and the way it rides high up between your shoulder blades makes for a no bounce vest.

Gear Vest 3.0

My first run with this was 9 miles, some time ago but I wanted to have a few more runs with it before I wrote an honest review. I love the 1L capacity and while it is somewhat noticeable on your back, I think it bounces less than my PFV v2. I like the pockets in the front and there is enough capacity for longer unsupported trail runs (wallet, phone, jerkey, map, supplements, and keys). I kept the bungee cords on the back to help keep things snug as the water depleted, I usually dont like the strap keepers (on the PFV I swap them for tri-glides) but havent had any issues with slippage. My last run was in 90+ degree heat and with lots of ice to start the bladder felt nice and chilly on my back but an hour into the run the water got pretty hot due to my own heat and the sun on the short tube. I added a magnetic tube clip and might add a small section of tube insulation and an extra layer of insulation between my back and bladder.

Most versatile pack yet

I have 4 orange mud packs all for different uses, ranging from the PFV to the endurance pack. The 1 liter gear vest serves every need I have.
