I have used packs from all of the usual manufacturers, and OM is still my favorite, and will continue to be so for as long as my knees do not betray me. You are now the first company I turn to when I need an excuse to buy more running gear. These are the most comfortable packs.
I also admire how OM continues to try and improve the Endurance Pack 4L. I like the V1.0 so much that when I learned that a V2.0 was available, I immediately ordered it without even comparing it to the V1.0 that I am already familiar with. I couldn’t imagine how the V1.0 could have been possibly improved upon.
I will continue to run with the V1.0.
Pros of the V2.0
- Roomer chest pockets: 500mL flasks now comfortably fit.
- ’Trash’ pockets: I don’t use these, but these extra pockets are not intrusive and could be helpful in scenarios I haven’t thought of.
Cons of the V2.0 (Why I am sticking with the V1.0)
- Chest straps: These feel too light, bordering on flimsy compared to the elastics chest straps on the 1.0. I have barely used this pack and from the first time I took it out in the field, I immediately imagined breaking these based on how light they feel and stretch. This isn’t a ’secure flexibility’ as in the elastic straps on the V1.0. The V1.0 straps are beefier and more sturdy.
- Chest strap sliders: These are not as secure as the hook attachments on the V1.0. While the V1.0 hooks take a little more effort to adjust to dial in the fit, once in place, there they will remain. ’Set it and…
