Nice with one flaw

The PFV is great for short runs and cycling. Plenty of room for water, phone and small items. Items are secure throughout the run. The one knock is the adjustment straps. They are in the rear and difficult if not impossible to reach while on a run. Unless you're with a partner you have to have it just right when you put it on. For reference I wear a men's size L tee shirt and bought the XL PFV.

Love the PFV 2.0

I generally avoid carrying a pack if I can, but decided I better start doing it more frequently because I don't think water fountains or race support water will be available for a while. This is my second pack from Orange Mud - I also have the HydraQuiver Vest Pack 1. I like them both but because of my minimalist preference, I think I will use the PFV much more frequently on runs I normally would just wing it and go without anything because I don't feel the need for the HydraQuiver. Both excellent though - I am pretty small and am able to fit these both so there is not too much movement. Big fan of Orange Mud.

PFV

It took me a minute or two to get the sides cinched and lined up so the straps were not flapping around. I'm 35" around so I suspect if you aren't as thin the adjustment will be easier. I have taken this on runs up to 16 miles in temperatures up to 65 degrees.

The back phone pocket isn't big enough for my Pixel 3 with a large case and magnet mount. The shoulder pocket and the front trash pocket are big enough for gels or snack. It would be great to have a key clip in the main back pocket. My keys fit fine in the back and do not move and make noise once there!

PFV v2

I had the PFV v1 for a little over a year, running about 250 miles in that time. I was looking for something just a tad larger, both in the rear compartment and water size; but was'nt ready to commit to the Gear Vest just yet. The PFV v2 fit the bill! The rear compartment now fits at least an iPhone 7 with Life Proof case and some other flat essentials (TP and couple of band-aids), and I absolutely love the fact that this version has a zipper; before I rarely used it because I was afraid of losing anything I put in there. The increase of water size is perfect (I drink lots of water on runs) for 10ish miles; the bottle does bounce/slosh a little until you drink a few ounces though. I added an additional elastic band about an inch above the water opening to help with this.

The rear compartment zipper was amazingly easy to use even while wearing AND running but putting anything in there that wasn't flat (such as a pair of thin gloves) makes you feel like a hunchback. To remedy this, I also sewed in an elastic band on the right side to hold gloves.

I have never used the bite valve flap and think it should be converted to another Velcro pocket (that would double as a valve flap) for keeping additional supplements or trash.

The plastic keeper tabs for the adjustment straps don't work very well in my opinion (same for the v1 model) and the first thing I did when I received this version was replace them with tri-glides for a never-slip fit.

Overall I think this product…

Odd yet obsessed = awsomeness

The first few times I saw this, I thought the people at Orange mud went and pooped themselves, that thing looks off....smack to reality, I always carry a hand held anywhere from 1-10 miles, but need to carry a few extra items, I jumped and got this, and first, was off cause the water causes you to lean forward, amd it's a soft flask...my first run at 5 miles, I'm hooked cause I'll sometimes run a back mount to carry extra stuff, for protection, pepper spray fits in the right shoulder pouch , I have a dog buzzer that fits in front of the flask, keys can snap in a small pocket on the left, in the trunk on the back, I put a small flip phone, and snacks for Natick (running dog)....theres plenty of water for (me) for 10 miler...
