I had the PFV v1 for a little over a year, running about 250 miles in that time. I was looking for something just a tad larger, both in the rear compartment and water size; but was'nt ready to commit to the Gear Vest just yet. The PFV v2 fit the bill! The rear compartment now fits at least an iPhone 7 with Life Proof case and some other flat essentials (TP and couple of band-aids), and I absolutely love the fact that this version has a zipper; before I rarely used it because I was afraid of losing anything I put in there. The increase of water size is perfect (I drink lots of water on runs) for 10ish miles; the bottle does bounce/slosh a little until you drink a few ounces though. I added an additional elastic band about an inch above the water opening to help with this.
The rear compartment zipper was amazingly easy to use even while wearing AND running but putting anything in there that wasn't flat (such as a pair of thin gloves) makes you feel like a hunchback. To remedy this, I also sewed in an elastic band on the right side to hold gloves.
I have never used the bite valve flap and think it should be converted to another Velcro pocket (that would double as a valve flap) for keeping additional supplements or trash.
The plastic keeper tabs for the adjustment straps don't work very well in my opinion (same for the v1 model) and the first thing I did when I received this version was replace them with tri-glides for a never-slip fit.
Overall I think this product…
