Our HydraQuiver line of vest packs packs have traditionally been a low profile, no chest pocket, no chest strap type of pack. Well we decided to spin it a bit with our new vest pack which delivers the same comfort, has 2 expandable chest pockets, and attaches via a chest strap. The VP2 vest pack utilizes a 3D spacer mesh with a transparent surface that gives a plush "floating" honeycomb appearance. It's softness makes it comfortable against the skin and breathable, while having minimal stretch. Our traditional shoulder pockets are still on the pack for quick access to your nutrition, phone and other accessory items. This pack is extremely light, extremely breathable, stable under speed yet comfortable for the long haul.

The way to fit this pack properly is to cinch down the sides nice and snug while leaving the front chest strap loose. This tension is very important as it controls the fit and the front chest strap is for micro adjustments only.

Sizing Note: Our Double Barrel HydraQuiver may be a better option for ladies if you have a large chest. Sorry to be blunt, just trying to help! If under a 27" chest this pack will likely be too big. Anywhere between 27" and 52" generally fits great.

  1. Food/accessory pockets on the shoulders and chest for quick access.
  2. 24oz BPA Free, bottle based hydration for easy fill, easy clean-up.
  3. Medical grade mesh for maximum breathability.
  4. Weight without bottles: 10oz.
  5. iPhone 6/7/8 in a case will fit into the shoulder pockets, iPhone 6+/7+/8+/X+ will fit in the optional modular bag or in the front chest pockets.
  6. Storage = 198 cubic inches
  7. Optional accessory pocket for purchase here.

Pleasant Surprise!

I admit, I was doubtful. I'm a bigger girl (size 12-ish) with a barrel chest, and this has worked against me in the past regarding packs. I'm also an asthmatic so I must carry an inhaler, I'm allergic to wasps so I must carry an Epi-Pen, and in general I bring a lot of "stuff" on a run so I figured there wouldn't be enough storage. Lastly, bottles on my back? They'll be LOUD and I won't be able to reach them! Well, I stand corrected on all counts. I was able to dial in the fit on my very first run and it wears like a dream. No bounce nor chafe! As for storage, I stuffed those pockets! Well, I tried to. I mean, I put all of my usual stuff in the vest and had room for more. How is that possible? And the bottles... I'm not very coordinated but I was able to retrieve and replace them without issue. Now for the noise. I feel this will vary. I'm a loud runner. I breathe heavy and my feet plod hard. This may be in my favor as I hardly heard the bottles. If you're a quiet, stealthy runner your experience may be the exact opposite, but I'd say to certainly not count the vest out for that reason without at least giving it a try. All the other pros of the vest may still sway you. And with OM's generous return policy you can't go wrong.

So, in a nut shell. I highly recommend this vest. If you're even only slightly considering it I urge you to give it a try. You too will most likely be pleasantly surprised!

Hydraquiver Vest Pack 2

I recently purchased the Hydraquiver Vest Pack 2. I used it on trails so far. I logged about 70 miles on it with a long run of 25 miles. GREAT PACK! Minimal movement! No chafing. Secured a lot of gear in all of the right places. Ya nailed this Vest. Need to try the other adventure pack!

Several Runs in...

I purchased this after seeing a friend wear a single barrel at a race. I run Ultras, so I went with the "double barrel." I am still getting use to how to adjust it, but I absolutely love the positioning on shoulders and the space this gives. On a side note, I bought the extra accessory bag to help with storage too. First 12 hr race is coming up, and I am looking forward to using this pack!

Perfect for a 50k

The HQVP2 ended up being my go to for my first 50k. It gave me the option to carry one bottle water and one bottle with my hydration mix with the ease of a quick re-fill at the aid stations. There was also plenty of room in the large chest pockets and shoulder pockets to stash my fuel for the day. I experienced no chaffing after a day of running in hot and sticky conditions and the pack sits very comfortably on my back - very pleased with this hydration system!

Perfect!

Very light, airy, breathable pack. Barely feels like I'm carrying anything, and I love that I can store so much and still have my hands free. Fits perfectly and snugly with no chafing so far. It takes some getting used to as far as knowing exactly where to put the bottles back over the shoulder, but the muscle memory is coming. What I love best is that the night lights that I wear (the Tracer360 by NoxGear) fit snugly over the pack so I can be comfortable, hydrated, and also very visible when running on roads at night. A lot of people ask me about my pack in my endurance training group. They definitely love that I can carry Gatorade on one side and water on the other. So do I! Thanks OrangeMud! - @impetus808
