Our HydraQuiver line of vest packs packs have traditionally been a low profile, no chest pocket, no chest strap type of pack. Well we decided to spin it a bit with our new vest pack which delivers the same comfort, has 2 expandable chest pockets, and attaches via a chest strap. The VP2 vest pack utilizes a 3D spacer mesh with a transparent surface that gives a plush "floating" honeycomb appearance. It's softness makes it comfortable against the skin and breathable, while having minimal stretch. Our traditional shoulder pockets are still on the pack for quick access to your nutrition, phone and other accessory items. This pack is extremely light, extremely breathable, stable under speed yet comfortable for the long haul.

The way to fit this pack properly is to cinch down the sides nice and snug while leaving the front chest strap loose. This tension is very important as it controls the fit and the front chest strap is for micro adjustments only.

Sizing Note: Our Double Barrel HydraQuiver may be a better option for ladies if you have a large chest. Sorry to be blunt, just trying to help! If under a 27" chest this pack will likely be too big. Anywhere between 27" and 52" generally fits great.

  1. Food/accessory pockets on the shoulders and chest for quick access.
  2. 24oz BPA Free, bottle based hydration for easy fill, easy clean-up.
  3. Medical grade mesh for maximum breathability.
  4. Weight without bottles: 10oz.
  5. iPhone 6/7/8 in a case will fit into the shoulder pockets, iPhone 6+/7+/8+/X+ will fit in the optional modular bag or in the front chest pockets.
  6. Storage = 198 cubic inches
  7. Optional accessory pocket for purchase here.

Love the improvements on fit!

This was my 2nd time testing out the HQV2 pack. The first time wearing the original pack, I found it too loose for my small frame. Also the material in the original didn't wick the sweat great so it left my back feeling wet. The improvement in the new HQV2 corrected those two issues and I loved wearing it! The fit was perfect and the material felt much lighter and breathable. The only issue I had was my bottles would not release easy. I had to stop each time to pull them out and it was a struggle putting them back. The original vest I never had an issue and there was no need to break in the holders. I was told it could of been a defect in my vest. Other than that everything about this pack is 10/10! I had plenty of room to store gear and food as you can see in photos. The best part is having my hands free. I've been using my single barrel for half marthon and shorter distances and it's awesome.

HydroQuiver Vest Pack 2

Great pack. No bounce, no sloshing, no worries. It is great being able to run with 2 different liquids. Water in one quiver and Nuun in the other. Along with this I can carry my wallet, keys, salt stick, and Gu. Light weight, allows air to flow, and limited heat. What more could you ask for? I love my Orange Mud pack.

Functional pack

I bought the hydraquiver vest pack 2 for a 50-miler (and soon to be 100), and I used it for a few 20-30 miler training runs prior to the race. I thought it would be awkward to remove/replace the water bottles, but it isn’t. The bottles sit high and are easy to remove and replace. The shoulder pockets had plenty of room for several gels (5 in each pocket), and the chest pockets easily held an iphone 7, sunglasses, chipstick, and salt.

The pack feels a little odd at first, but it quickly feels like nothing is there. Adjust/put-on the pack as they describe on the website, and go on a few practice/training runs before you use it on a long run.

A bit pricey, but you get what you pay for....

Pleasant Surprise!

I admit, I was doubtful. I'm a bigger girl (size 12-ish) with a barrel chest, and this has worked against me in the past regarding packs. I'm also an asthmatic so I must carry an inhaler, I'm allergic to wasps so I must carry an Epi-Pen, and in general I bring a lot of "stuff" on a run so I figured there wouldn't be enough storage. Lastly, bottles on my back? They'll be LOUD and I won't be able to reach them! Well, I stand corrected on all counts. I was able to dial in the fit on my very first run and it wears like a dream. No bounce nor chafe! As for storage, I stuffed those pockets! Well, I tried to. I mean, I put all of my usual stuff in the vest and had room for more. How is that possible? And the bottles... I'm not very coordinated but I was able to retrieve and replace them without issue. Now for the noise. I feel this will vary. I'm a loud runner. I breathe heavy and my feet plod hard. This may be in my favor as I hardly heard the bottles. If you're a quiet, stealthy runner your experience may be the exact opposite, but I'd say to certainly not count the vest out for that reason without at least giving it a try. All the other pros of the vest may still sway you. And with OM's generous return policy you can't go wrong.

So, in a nut shell. I highly recommend this vest. If you're even only slightly considering it I urge you to give it a try. You too will most likely be pleasantly surprised!
