Amazed by great design
I hardly ever write reviews, but I had to say something about the “HydraQuiver Double Barrel Hydration Pack”. I’ve had mine for about four years, and I’ve probably run at least 500 miles with it – mostly training runs and a couple marathons. It’s wonderful. Before I bought it, I was looking at some bladder-based hydration packs. I like the Double Barrel better, because I can clean the bottles so easily, and I don’t have to worry about mold forming in any tubes. I admit the Double Barrel felt a little strange when I first tried it, but I got used to it after about five minutes of running. It’s really well designed. For instance, the adjustable shoulder straps are easy to loosen and tighten on the run. Just pull to tighten and tilt the buckle to loosen. Another nice design touch is that there are little elastic loops to hold the loose ends of the shoulder straps so they don’t flop around. There are also a couple Velcro pouches that are perfect for nutrition like Gu packets. There is a zippered pouch on the back to hold keys or a phone. It’s great to put my keys in there so they’re not flopping around in my pocket ready to fall out. I’ve gotten good at reinserting the bottles into the holders on the run. The only negative that I really worried about before I bought it was that someone said the sloshing sound of the water was annoying.
