Ray Runs: HydraQuiver Running Pack Review

First off, Ray is a beast of a great runner, a genuinely good dude, and a blogging mad man. That's what we like about him. We have been pumped to bring Ray on as an ambassador to Orange Mud and appreciate his detailed review of our pack!

Review below, posted 1-25-14, compliments of rayruns.blogspot.com.

Have you ever noticed that there are, or seem to be, a hundred new running products coming out with each passing year? New shorts that will make you run more efficiently, shirts that will cause less chafing. Shoes that will make you run like a gazelle, etc etc. We all buy into this hype because we want to believe the hype is real. Everyone has their favorite, and everyone's favorite is the best. Especially when it comes to hydration packs. Go to Twitter, Facebook, or any running site and this topic can get heated. Thus is why I sit back and scour reviews, products, and companies before I buy into .....read more

Sweet Relish: 5 Weight Loss Tricks to Keep You on Track in 2014

Sweet Relish: 5 Weight Loss Tricks To Keep You On Track In 2014

Thanks to Sweet Relish for posting about our hydration pack called the HydraQuiver Double Barrel, as well as some other fun gear!

"Drink more water – Sugary drinks account for a surprising number of calories in our diets. Skip the sweetened beverage and grab water instead. Our bodies are over 60% water, and that water is continually used. Replacing water with water is much healthier than replacing water with soda. When we exercise, our body’s need for water increases. If you are working out and thirsty, you are already dehydrated, so be sure to take plenty of water with you. The Sweet Relish Hook-Up: The HydraQuiver from Orange Mud makes hydration easy. Rather than bouncing around, this water carrier stays put using smooth webbing and elastic zipper pulls. Now, there’s no excuse for dehydration."

No bounce hydration, the ideal solution for your running adventure!

Orange Mud Releases 2014 HydraQuiver

Orange Mud Releases 2014 HydraQuiver

Corona, CA, November 8, 2013 –

Tired of bouncing and sloshing hydration packs? Solution found, meet the HydraQuiver™. The HydraQuiver is a bottle based hydration system that keeps your workouts simple. Just grab the bottle, fill, place in pack and go. No bladders to clean, a small foot print on your back to keep temperature in check, and easy access to your nutrition.

The 2014 HydraQuiver build was just released and is sporting some nice modifications from the previous version. Pack weight has been reduced by 10.5% to a mere 314 grams. The shoulder area has been slightly elongated with increased cushion for additional long range comfort. Both shoulder pockets are now using a super elastic material for even more storage of gels, phone, and nutritional supplements. There were 32 changes overall, all very minor to add new features, comfort, or function.

From a material perspective there are some functional and cosmetic changes too. A switch to the 400x300 denier nylon creates an engineered and eye appealing look while still maintaining the high quality and breath-ability those have to come expect from Orange Mud. At the base of the pack is a laser cut durable polymer material for lashing down jackets, shirts, or whatever else you need to secure. This same material is used in the upper portion of the pack for a laser cut headphone port so you can listen to your tunes throughout your long runs. There are 5 color options to chose from based upon customer feedback. Black is currently released, with Pink, Gray, Tan and Fluorescent orange available by 11/30. Sewn in the US, some materials domestic, some foreign, but cut, sewn and engineered here in the US.

About Orange Mud

Our philosophy at Orange Mud is very simple, make the most efficient, well crafted, American manufactured gear. Our design team has spent years competing in adventure racing, ultras, mountain bike racing, trail running, marathons, Ironman and some awfully fun outdoor adventures. Years of training for these events has often left us searching for the next best thing, but many times it's just not there. So we figure someone has to make it, why not us? We have 4 products currently. The HydraQuiver single and double bottle systems are both ultra light, ultra breathable hydration systems. The Transition & Seat Wrap™ is a multi-function wrap that keeps your towel from falling off when changing into workout gear and protects your car seat from sweat and grime after a good workout. Lastly, the SUP SIP, a pack for the stand up paddle board community was released this summer.
